http://dug.lv will be a place we can create sub projects to demo stuff and document our meetings. G.d.o and meetup are great tools for organizing the group, so we don't need that functionality on this site. We do need a design. So if you are a designer and want to contribute, let's chat.
I would also like to use git hub to collab on different features for the site to document our meetings with notes, presentations and videos, etc.
This site will be used as a way to teach development workflow with Drupal. Because I love features module and git.

For the time being I have disabled dev. Actually, I killed the old prod site, because that old bug that shall not be mentioned persisted, and made the dev site the live site you are now looking at.
I will do some rearranging behind the scenes (renaming directories and databases) to make development smoother for those with direct file access to this server.

I'm posting this here because I want to see if the database is getting reverted to a previous state.
I noticed that all the regions except for Content and Help for the admin theme, Seven, are missing. Was that intentional, or is there some weirdness going on?

Even though we are using a CAPTCHA on this site, we are still getting a few fake signups of new users. I'm thinking we need a few quick questions about who the person is that is registering as a way that will provide some content that will feed into our profiles. Collecting this info on registration will help admins filter the fake accounts.
Anyone interested in building this feature? If so, please comment here. What questions and fields should we have?
I was thinking: Real Name, drupal.org name, personal/business website
Thoughts?

This site is now running on Drupal 7.9! It only took 4 commits, because i commited some stuff that was not right... but because git is so easy to undo stuff, was able to complete the update.
If you ever wanted to see what the difference between 7 point releases for Drupal looks like, go here: https://github.com/lvdug/dug.lv/commit/b6ec7c7c20a3db7d628541f9528f0b12a... (just ignore all that pink in the sites/all/modules/contrib directory ;-))

Hey all, I've been caught up on the most recent discussions at our last meeting. I regret that I could not be there, but think I can make arrangements to be at the next one as it may shape up to be quite productive.

So, we've been getting some weird activity on the http://dug.lv site. Looks like bots are applying for accounts on the site; either that or people aren't responding to my welcome emails. Here's a screen grab of the recent activity:

So, I think this is the perfect opportunity to document how to setup and configure CAPTCHA's on the forms on this site.

All Editors now have access to Backup and Migrate. Editors Can:
Perform a backup
Access backup files
This will allow Editors to download a copy of the existing site and work with it on their local servers. Then, they can make and test changes locally and commit them back via: https://github.com/lvdug/dug.lv
Again, contact me: http://dug.lv/user/7/contact - with any questions or for access and I will be happy to help you get set up.
Thanks.

I went ahead and added an Editor role and will give it to anyone that wants to participate in posting content to this site. This site can serve as a place to archive presentation materials (slides etc.) and be used as a learning/demo space for the community to play with.
Group discussion stuff will still live at: http://groups.drupal.org/las-vegas where it belongs.
